(HealthDay News) -- An involved parent can help keep a child safe while he or she uses the Internet.
The University of Michigan Health System says parents should:
- Take action to protect a child's online privacy.
- Place the computer in a visible, common area instead of the child's bedroom.
- Create a shared email account, so you can monitor emails sent and received.
- Surf the Internet together.
