(HealthDay News) -- Improving power consumption is good for you and fellow earthlings everywhere.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency offers these tips to help reduce your energy usage:
- When buying new appliances, look for the ENERGY STAR label, making sure to activate any "standby mode" function.
- Replace your light bulbs with ENERGY STAR qualified lighting.
- Use an ENERGY STAR programmable thermostat to adjust the temperature in your home when you aren't there.
- Make sure your home is well insulated to lower heating and cooling costs.
