Ulcerative Colitis: We're restructuring how we treat the disease

Eco-Reset | Ulcerative Colitis

Categories: For Potential Participants, [Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis]

For some people with UC, current medications may bring unwanted side effects or may not work well enough to treat their symptoms. The ECO-RESET Study will look at an investigational medication that works differently. Studies have shown that people with UC often have changes in the population of bacteria living in their intestines (guts), called the gut “microbiome.” The investigational medication contains purified bacteria from the intestines of healthy people. Researchers hope that this will help restore the health of the gut microbiome in individuals with UC. Doctors are researching how safe this investigational medication is and if it may help to reduce the symptoms of UC with fewer side effects.

You may be able to take part in the ECO-RESET Study if you:

  • are 18–80 years of age
  • have been diagnosed with mild-to-moderate UC for at least 3 months
  • have already tried at least 1 current UC medication.

Study participation will last for up to 67 weeks. All study-related care will be provided at no cost.
