(HealthDay News) -- Producing sweat is your body's natural cooling system. But there are many factors that influence your ability to chill.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says cooling factors include:
- Humidity, which prevents sweat from evaporating and slows your body's ability to cool itself.
- Your age. Older and younger people may not cool down as easily as others.
- Being obese.
- Being dehydrated
- Taking certain medications, illicit drugs, or drinking alcohol.
- Having a fever.
- Becoming sunburned.
- Having a condition such as poor blood circulation, heart disease or mental illness.
