Is your voice being heard? Small Cell Lung Cancer Survey

New ways to voice your opinions and experiences are emerging. We are currently seeking insights from patients with small cell lung cancer.

Categories: For Potential Participants

Making your opinions and experiences heard

Patients have multiple ways to make their voices heard in clinical research. You may be familiar with the most common ways – participating in a clinical trial of an investigational treatment that is not yet approved for regular medical use, or membership in a patient advocacy group. These avenues can provide opportunities to contribute to the development and delivery of new treatments.

Another way to make your voice heard is to participate in a qualitative research study focused on the patient experience. These studies are used to gain an in-depth understanding of what it’s like to live with a particular disease or condition. Participation typically involves an in-person or telephone interview conducted by a trained researcher.

Seeking small cell lung cancer patients

IQVIA™ is currently looking to interview patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (SCLC) whose disease has progressed during or after their first experience with platinum-based chemotherapy. These interviews will take place one on one over the phone with a trained professional. The purpose of these interviews is to discuss patients’ symptoms, treatment, and the consequences on their lives. This research study will help determine the most important elements of living with SCLC and how to best measure the impact of potential new treatments on these experiences.

If you are interested in participating, please take our survey, where you will find additional details about the study and what it would involve. If you wish to take part, you can provide your consent to participate at the end of the survey. You will be asked several questions to confirm your eligibility. If you are eligible, we will contact you to ask for medical confirmation of your diagnosis of SCLC. We will discuss this with you in more detail at that time and will be happy to provide help obtaining this confirmation where possible. Once the confirmation has been received, we will contact you to schedule and conduct the interview. In return for your voluntary participation in the interview, your time and effort will be compensated with a $120 check or gift card that you will receive after completion of the interview.
